Joe has been around in this sport longer than Moses. Longer than Moses? Egad. I've decided to post something else that I've been thinking about, but been reluctant to put out. But maybe it will help some folks understand where I'm coming from. I have seen a rider die at a ride. I have been at rides where riders were airlifted to hospitals with severe injuries (and it took a long time to get to them). I have twice been hospitalized for life-threatening injuries suffered at a ride -- on one of them, the hours it took to get me to a medical facility could have been fatal. I know the dangers first-hand. So, do I say we should stop riding and become couch potatoes? Hell, NO!!!! But I do ask for a little REASON when we consider allowing five, six, even seven-year-old kids to be put into that kind of situation. -- Joe Long jlong@xxxxxxxx http://www.rnbw.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
