I say that from personal experience. Thanks to ancient knees & a torn ACL, I don't run any more, but I walk a lot, go to Curves 3 x week and ride my horse 4 x week at least and feel like I barely stay ahead of decay. I've also discovered in the past couple of years, that getting my core/abdominal muscles strong is the best thing I can do.My advice: just do anything active you feel up to and slowly increase it.
