[RC] paint horses in distance riding - Dawn Simas

My paint (full QH) has done LD's and 50 milers and gets straight A's.  Only ride he didn't get a "completion" was Castle Rock and that's because we were overtime, but he did complete with A's still.  It was a long 50 *and* we got lost.  We left a lot of arabs at the vet checks, so I was very proud of him that day.  He has also ridden "sweep" (drag) on Tevis on the toughest parts:  One year from High Camp to Robinson-27 miles through Granite Chief, and the next year from Robinson to Deadwood through the canyons from noon to 6pm when it was 113 degrees.  Breezed through both of those and could easily have continued.

His issues are that I work to keep him cool and pace him in the heat, go slow when climbing hills and dump my frozen water bottles on him regularly.  Also, his pace is slow, nice easy jog, but we are always turtle and chasing the cutoffs because my goal is straight A's on my vet cards.  :)

You can see his record on AERC's site under Spookin' Amigo, #H36394.  You can see pics of him at: http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2100292372
