[RC] relationships with non-horsey people - rides2farFor the life of me I can't figure out why so many obsessive horse lovers think they'd only match up with another obsessive horse lover. If you marry someone with the same bad habit you've got it DOUBLES the cost of every ride (believe me I know, I've got a junior) I've been *very* happily married for 24 1/2 years now and would not trade my non-horse loving husband for anything. What I recommend is you look for a guy who enjoys maintaining property, keeping a vehicle serviced, financially supporting his family, spending quality time with his kids, camping, and watching his wife have a good time. :-)) Some of my favorite people who are always at the rides never get on a horse and they seem to enjoy the sport as much as any of us. My husband enjoys trail riding, and has done one 50 miler which he thought "was no big deal" but I wouldn't think of encouraging him to become a real competitor. Last year he bought a kayak and I was thrilled. I think if both of you have something you enjoy doing and support each other it's great for the marriage...sometimes to go participate together (I got a kayak too) and sometimes to go off and spend a weekend apart. (always nice to come back home). My favorite thing about the kayak is that it fits on top of his jeep so we can both go off for the day without fighting over the truck. :-)) Angie =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
