So pleasure horses are not cared for well?

That statement just really rubs me the wrong way. None of my horses now compete, and they probably won't ever. But, to imply that because my horses aren't succesful competitors they're not cared for well is rude, arrogant, and just down right mean!

I'm pretty certain you and I used the same farrier for a while. Until he quit making the trip to VA and coming through my area. I used one of his apprentices after that, and now I use someone that's the same caliber as the first farrier. My farrier bill isn't cheap, but it's the best I can give my horses.

My "abused" pleasure horses have saddles that fit (Reactor Panel and a Hennig). They have saddle fitters. They have the best in vets. The best in feeds (Purina Ultium and Triple Crown feeds). The best in hay. I care for them myself and have 2 other horses in my care now, all are pleasure horses. None are "eaten up by flies" or have "hooves cracked into the quick.

Steph
