Yes, horses are fragile. So are people. So we take the best care we can, and then go for it. What I love about AERC, and NATRC also, is that the focus is so much on education. When I joined AERC and NATRC, both organizations had lists of mentors, several pamphlets for novices to read on how to condition and prepare for a ride, tips on camping with a horse, and competing. Not to mention both disciplines have on-line lists that are a tremendous resource for us novices. Ridecamp is a great resource, even if it does get heated up from time to time. Maybe the heat is getting to all of us. I'm sure I'm ready for autumn and cooler weather!
