Exactly what I proposed in an earlier post to Ridecamp. Except I didn't mention a sign. :-)) But I think some sort of ID for the mentor would be just fine.

How about running a 100 where veteran riders who are not trying to Top 10
are designated to mentor/pace/lead other riders? They could wear special
vests or armbands or something. And we newbies can do what they do in
England for driver's ed--hang red signs off the back that say "Learner"
