[RC] "natural" stamina/FT horse care - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

Recent article by a friend made the point,indirectly,that our field trial
TWH's/MFT's must have and apparently do have a good innate/genetic level of
stamina-because they are worked hard,and do so well,with no systematic concern
for fitness on the part of their owners.They are not abused,but they are
using/transportation horses;a means to an end rather than an end in
themselves.If their schedule of work/rest/etc from time to time is conducive to
fitness and health,that comes about simply by chance.He mentioned deep
chests,plenty of bone,etc,and the 200-250 lb load most of 'em carry.I'm no
advocate for neglect,but no doubt the crummy treatment saddle horses lived
through in the old days made for good genetics today.
