[RC] Congenial, maybe horsey communities in Utah - Maryanne StroudSome very good friends of mine are relocating to Utah sometime in the near future. He will be working in Sandy and they'd like to live in the area between town and the Big or Little Cottonwood Canyons. He likes riding and since they have been living in New York City and New Jersey for quite a while so hasn't been riding in ages. She would like to learn and came riding with me on a trip to Cairo not long ago. Both are skiers. Kids are both in college on the east coast. They'd like to find someplace where they can find things like horses available nearby and would probably love to get to know fellow riders and skiers. They would also like to find a relatively mixed community culturally speaking. Last time I was in Utah was a camping trip to Bryce and Zion in about 1960 when we ended up camping one night next to the graveyard in St. George, so my knowledge isn't much use. I'm much better on advice in moving to the Middle East. (Don't laugh, guys, there are an amazing number of people doing that...especially here in Egypt.) Any advice on interesting communities, contacts, whatever, will be greatly appreciated.
