This brings up a good subject I have been meaning to
pose to RC - what types of sun eye protection do people use and why? I'd like
to start riding in shades but wonder what people find are
best.
I just got back from the eye doctor. My first consultation for
having my eyes fixed. I am severly near sighted (blind as a bat, yes,
legally without lenses) and was hoping to be able to have lasix done.
Found out that not only am I blind (already knew that) but that I have
CATERACTS (OMG) at the age of 38 (GASP!!!) So I am having the
cateracts removed and the new lense implants put in.
To keep this endurance related and the real reason I am posting.... Did
you know that sun exposure can cause cateracts, and also cortisone type
drugs, steroids, etc.?
All of us horse addicted people should be wearing sun
glass/shades while out enjoying our equine activities.
I had no clue that this could happen. I have been riding 'forever'
and only in the past 5-6 years using sunglasses and/or cap w/visor.
STILL IN SHOCK OVER THIS ONE.
