RE: [RC] Securing Horses... - Zephyr Arabians

Knock on wood, I've never had a problem with tying to
the trailer using the "NATRC method." Of course, my
horses have lots of experience tying at home & then in
new places before going to rides, but I still think
tied is one of the safest options (including tied
direct to trailer, hi-ties or picket lines). Sure,
horses are horses, but this has worked for me and has
worked for NATRC riders for many years. And, you
never seem to hear of loose horses running through
NATRC camps.

Like Barbara, I carry medium-weight 12' livestock

 They aren't much
different than the fencing we have at home for
stallion runs and catch
pens. It would take a pretty dire situation for a
horse to get out of
them (provided we close the gate).

I have these kind of panels available (our round pen
is made of them), and I've seriously thought of taking
them to rides -- particularly as a secondary barrier
around a tied stallion (for his safety if other horses
get loose!). I can just barely manage to move them
around by myself. But, I can't figure out how to get
them to the ride. I'm guessing you've welded some
sort of rack on the side of the trailer?? But it
seems like the wheel wells would be in the way, even
with my 4-horse, since these type of panels are
constructed quite differently from the portable
temporary types.
