Re: [RC] Calories burned riding - Laney HumphreyI remember reading a similar article a few years ago that said, according to some study done by some graduate student, that the amount of calories burned horseback riding depended on the skill of the rider. The unskilled/beginning rider burned mega-calories (can't remember the exact number) but highly skill/conditioned riders hardly burned any at all because they were efficient. Oh well! Like Truman, I've found as the years increase so does the amount of exercise I need to do to fight off pounds. They did an article urging people to "get active" and centered it around the possibilities at the Chickamauga Battlefield, which happens to have a very popular horse trail that's used pretty heavily by the local endurance riders. Can't help but think they noticed us since they added the following fact: =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
