Re: [RC] itching horses - Laney HumphreyI have a friend here in CA who has a horse who itches all summer. She bites at herself and rubs until she's raw. Susan keeps her covered from head to tail to toes to prevent her from soring herself. She uses the big Cashel mask, a large fly sheet and leg wraps. It gets very hot (upper 90s - low 100s) where the horse is but she survives.Laney Alice Yovich wrote: yes, but how can we stop it? I've done everything i can think of. My daughter's pony has already started his yearly itching. One theory I was given in years past, but never tried, was to body clip him. so yesterday, I did just that. Dang, that was a lot of hair. Boy, that took a ton of time. Boy, did I ever suck at that... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
