I bought the 2-27lb tubs and got 1 free deal for 3-4 years when the flies were real bad here in San Diego. For some reason (smog?) the flies have not been bad at all the last 2 years so I have not bought any lately. I fed a double dose to 3 horses all the time and IMO the horses had very little fly problem. The midline on all 3 cleared up completely and the tips of their ears got all the fur back but it took several months. This powdered garlic has all the aroma of fresh garlic so my horses always smelled (to me) like good Italian dressing :-D which is my favorite. I had been using a gallon of fly spray ($40) every 4-6 weeks with almost zero results, that's $350 per year down a rat hole. A 27.5lb tub costs $220 and will give 440 days of 1oz servings (double dose for a 500lb pony) and might work wonders for your little guy. I used a scoop of sweet feed that was sticky (molasses) and stirred in the powder (very fluffy, blows easily, very sticky when wet, keep the lid snapped on, it has a rubber seal). Before the forest burned down we rode in the mountains and the swarms of gnats that used to drive the horses nuts (head shaking, ear flicking, snorting) would still swarm but hover about 1-2 feet away as if the horse had a bubble around it.
