[RC] Abusing Horse - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

I don't know if coming to a ride is always the best idea for the non-horsey
spouse. All mine initially saw was hot, skinny, sweaty, either nerved
up or head down horses, horses not willing to trot out, lame ones,
sore ones, being treated for colic etc. He saw riders frantically
working to get pulses down, many yelling, some riders pissed
off. These were the things that stood out first and strongest.
Time has since changed his perception, for the most part. Now
he understands things better. So, if the non-horsey are looking
for the bad, they can see it according to their lack of knowledge.
This is something one does need to think about. As riders, we know
what is going on, but to the outsider looking FOR THE BAD, it isn't
all that hard to find. Ignorance can be dangerous.

You will get plenty of good advice here, so hopefully something
will help with the hubby!
