Raw milk, I'm told, contains lactase, an enzyme that helps with digesting lactose. Pasteurizing destroys that. I ain't educated so if somebody knows better, correct me! I think the key to your statement is "people who THINK they are lactose-intolerant." If there were lactase in raw milk, it would self-digest just sitting there. (At least the lactose would be broken down, which would alter the composition of the milk.) Lactase is an enzyme produced in the digestive tract--not in the udder.
