  As an example, you can raise a kid on pasteurized milk, so he's getting 
some 
good out of it - but some people who think they are lactose intolerant find 
that they can drink raw milk without any digestive upsets.  Raw milk, I'm 
told, contains lactase, an enzyme that helps with digesting lactose.  
Pasteurizing destroys that.  
  I ain't educated so if somebody knows better, correct me! 

I think the key to your statement is "people who THINK they are
lactose-intolerant." 

If there were lactase in raw milk, it would self-digest just sitting
there.  (At least the lactose would be broken down, which would alter
the composition of the milk.)  

Lactase is an enzyme produced in the digestive tract--not in the udder.
