About the only Tevis tourism that might be possible near the ride start is a trip into Squaw Valley, since Hwy 89 is paved and kept plowed.  The stretch from 89 crossing, along the valley floor, and then the climb up to High Camp (and beyond) will be visible, albeit snow covered ( looks like there are plenty of places to eat at Squaw: http://www.squaw.com/winter/grubgroggruv.html).
