I rode my mare there on her first LD back in 1999, and have done a number of other rides there over the years on other horses. She's probably the queen of the tender feet - a real rock weenie. We did the ride barefoot (no barefoot craze here...just that our miles ridden were not exceeding hoof growth at that point...I did shoe her a few months later). She was fine the whole ride. I remember the trail *crossed* a couple gravel roads, but that's about it. Nice dirt the rest of the time.
