The thing with the mountain bikes is that if you run over poop, cow being the worst, you get a nice stripe of it up your back. We didn't often ride on shared trails, but I suppose it could be annoying to someone who hasn't developed a taste for it, to be smelling of horse all morning. This time of year my entire barnyard looks like a deer potty (mild winter this year, but most years it looks like an elk potty, too) and I can hardly walk without stepping in it. I always just figured it's part of life, and learned to scrape my shoes...
