RE: [RC] Kentucky Derby - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Susuan Nance endurance@xxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== We were lucky enough to attend the Derby in 1993 when Prairie Bayou ran( we were breeding a couple of mares to his sire) We sat in the Grand Stand section on the finish line. You can Purchase a package to include the Oaks, which is run the day before. I recommend this. You most likely will not be able to get a hotel ( unless you already booked) in either Louisville or Lexington at this late of date. Personally, Louisville isn't as nearly as pretty as Lexington. Try Richmond, south of Lexington. Easy drive to both. Try to book tours of the Farms. Gainesway and Walmac are very easy to get into. Another fun one is Vinery. Another place to go is the Horse Park, very cool. Eating, for cheap Cracker Barrel :) We always have had the best time there. I am envious.
