Re: [RC] Riding with a Camera - rides2far@xxxxxxxxI took photos even during the FIRST loop at the Man vs. Horse in Arizona. The most important thing is THE HORSE! Heisman is the only horse I've ever started a ride on that I could have taken photos on. I use a small digital camera about the size and shape of a deck of cards. If I stop the horse it's fine. If I'm moving the shutter speed is too slow and it blurs. Again...Heisman was the trick. He was willing to let me stop him and take the photo even though his buddy was trotting on ahead. The camera I used has a small carrying case that clamps onto your belt and it has a velcro closure that I can open one handed. Even that was enough to bounce when riding so I put the camera part on the inside of the waistband and the clamp on the outside of the waistband to my tights. Not the most comfortable...but didn't feel so likely to lose it. I could get the camera in and out without a *whole* lot of trouble (horse was on auto-pilot) but if I wanted the camera to be available quickly I had to keep it in my hand.
