Having just returned from a short course on the
above subject, put on not by a Dooms Day Group, but rather the Virginia Tech
Co-Operative, it opened my eyes more than ever that we, as a Nation are not
prepared for Disaster: either Natural or Caused by Man.
Basic prepardedness of food, water, fuel and cash
(if the banks go down for instance by an Internet crash, which the War
Game senerio just played out by the CIA in Charlottesville this past summer by
some computer gamers and experts played for 90 days of just what would happen if
it DID go down for that long) for ouselves and our pets. The recent
examples of just what can happen if a Natural Disaster happens to a Region,
imagine a Man Made Disaster on a National Scale, should be enough to alarm even
those that are kin to Ostriches and keep their head in the sand until something
bowls them over. Anarchy will be on the streets and small towns of
America.
My Mother always said..."A Hint to the Wise is
Sufficient" and my hint would to be a good Boy Scout and "Be Prepared" with
a Disaster Plan. Knowing that i am even met w/ skepticism among some i
know i can only imagine what those that don't know me must think. So
be it.
