Re: [RC] Family Disaster Plan - DArcy MoserDear Tom, I don't know why ANYONE would have met advice for Disaster Preaprdedness with any negativity at all! Pick up this month's Horse Illustrated about the efforts to save live animals that are still going on in Louisiana. Look at the section on those that were not able to be helped and why. Like leaving them abandoned in their stalls with the building collapsing on them. Dogs tied to trees instead of turning them loose and giving them a fighting chance. There is NOTHING more scary than having to figure out what to do with a live animal whether it is a horse, mule, dog, cat, bird, and any other type of live animal. When you are also trying to figure out what to do for your family. By-the-way, many of the animals in the southeast that survived the hurricane and still died. Did so because there was not any FOOD or WATER! I'll reinterate...anyone that takes this lightly is looking to be the next victim. There are all sorts of programs on the internet that help you to develop a sound disaster plan for you and your family as-well-as your beloved animals. D'Arcy Tom Sites <goearth@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
