Extensions for towing are a royal pain.Choice of Diesel vs gas depends on a few things: 1. Where are you towing? If you need to go over 7 to 10 thousand foot passes a diesel is much more satisfactory because you will have power at the top. 2. What weight are you towing? The more weight the more a diesel helps. 3. How many miles will you tow? It takes lots of miles to make up for the better fuel economy of a diesel. Especially since there are more frequent oil changes and more oil.
