[RC] The cost to riders - rides2farYa know what chaps MY hide? Yesterday AM gas was 3.19 a gallon across the > road. When we came home from dinner at 10PM it was $3.29. We weren't home to see > it , but to our knowledge, there were no tankers bringing in new, more > expensive fuel I don't mean to necessarily defend oil companies...but as a business thing it makes sense to me. If you have refineries that are damaged and have to be repaired, and overtime to pay to get them back on line, and you're still paying for those refineries whether they're up and running or not...the expenses are piling up fast. It's not like they were able to make $2.43 gas last week, can take 3 weeks off, and then produce $2.43 gas again right away. People's salaries have to be paid whether any gas is coming out of there or not and if they have gas in the pump that's still theirs, they've got the right to raise the price. By the way, I filled up the huge tank in our van and my brother called to say he's got a buyer for it. You can bet I'm getting ready to siphon that stuff out!
