Re: [RC] Freeway Horse Travel - Laney HumphreyThe rodeo grounds in Fernley NV, about 30 miles east of Reno and very close to the freeway is great! Nice paddocks, big arena for turnout and you can park right next to your horses. While travelling, I've used rest stops, highway exits, truck stops as stretching places. I just make sure to stay out of everyone else's way. I carry my own water so I don't have to leave the horses to go hunt some down. If necessary, I refill my day's water jugs before leaving in the morning. I don't think you'll need to worry about VS but check before leaving.Laney Idahomountains54@xxxxxxx wrote: We are planning a trip from our home in Boise to a small town north of San Fransisco. We've hauled horses to local trails, events and camping spots but where do you unload them just to stretch their legs, get some water, etc. when you are traveling on the freeway? Also, any good overnight stops for horses close to the freeway near Reno?
