I think most of us mean "really old, big trees" as in your email. I was merely being sensitive to the term because some people think beautiful forests emerge only when they are never managed by logging them. I like knowing that second and third-growth stands mature to a point that people can't even tell when they're riding through a thriving part of the timber industry.
