Karen-I agree about the flap length when the rider has a very long femur, not just when a rider is tall but proportionately in relation to their seat size--but the flap must *also* be more extended in front for that sort of rider to use stirrups at hunter length. Dressage-style, longer is enough.

In my Sports Saddle, when the stirrups were at "endurance length", my pubic bone tapped the pommel in each rise to the trot--the only fix would have been a bigger seat size, and I dislike flopping about in a saddle especially when riding a Rubberband.

At least for me, most English saddles have stirrup bars too far forward and
the flaps
too short.
