Re: [RC] Gaited horses - Laney HumphreyThanks, Lynne! He's going to have to put up with my learning about gaited horses. Just so no one falls into the trap of thinking there is a perfect, i.e., sound minded, breed or cross out there, one of the nuttiest horses I've ever known was a Lib/Arab cross. Managed to leap just so in the pasture and disattach most of its shoulder muscles. Even with extraordinary care and treatment was probably never going to be sound and was nutty enough to keep reinjuring itself. In general, though, I would think a Lip/Arab would be a fun cross.Laney Lynne Glazer wrote: When my black filly was young, I cut out the article that the Voice of the TWH did on you guys and your versatility award for endurance and had it on the bathroom mirror for years. I think Queenie and your maniacal mare were related. She was a good girl until she was four and conditioned...then she never gave up. It would take hours to warm her up to show her, she'd never get deep behind (because why did you need to, on the trail? <g>) With most horses if they asked for more, you could head them up a hill and they'd slow down after a while, tiring. Not her. She was a tremendous loss, to a pipe corral accident by herself in the middle of the night. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
