Re: [RC] Overnight request for Missouri and Nebraska - Laney HumphreyI've done a lot of long distance traveling with horses in the west. I highly recommend local fairgrounds and rodeo arenas. Almost every small town in Nebraska and west has a rodeo arena. Mitchell, NB, just west of Scotts Bluff and almost into WY has a very nice fairgrounds. Occasionally I have been asked to pay about $10 but often staying is free! You might have to walk your horses around to find some grass but it usually isn't hard to find. Unless there is an event going on, we would turn our horses out in the arena (after first checking to make sure ALL the gates are closed) for some run around time. Often you can pull your rig up close to the pens the horses are in. We've found the rodeo grounds just by pulling into a filling station and asking. Folks have always been friendly and willing to help horse people.Have a great trip!
