[RC] Riding in Fairground arenas (A Montana experience) - Christy HawesI read about staying at fairgrounds and wanted to post a warning. In Kalispell, Montana I put on a horse show at the local FAIRGROUNDS using the sand arena (only big arena). Sounds OK, right? Well, come to find out that same arena is used for the demolition derby!! There were pieces of metal in that sand!! I had a friend's horse get a piece of metal in his foot during a show class. Horse was luckily not hurt. Rider won't ride there anymore. Something you might want to ask about before using a Fairgrounds arena- especially in the smaller towns. Can you say LIABILTY when putting on a show??!! but, what do you do....
