Rode conservatively (arrived @ Robinson's 11:30)Had all B's & B+'s on VC card
but was told horse "trying to thump"bring 
back in 1/2 hour,
give e-lites.Could only detect tick w/scope at rechk
but chose to treat & pull.Horse has never had a 
metobolic problem before.Had good gut sounds,
never lost appetite.No outward signs of thumping
after original slight tick which disappeared 
completely during treatment(just one set-up).
Horse gets alfalfa once a day with either grass 
or oat/barley hay,Complete Advantage,&
is in best condition of his life.Added 1 cup of rice
bran pellets 2 weeks before race to add a little
weight(used to seeing him rounder,he's very "cut & defined "
for the first time but we trained hard for this.
It showed.)
Horse didn't sleep either nite at Robie.
Bug in ear 1st nite.shook head & rubbed all 
nite on trailer.Nite before ride got 
spooked by ride meeting folks all passing thru
camp,took an hour of walking to get heart
rate down.Could the panic attack and lack of 
sleep have caused some of his problem?He was great
on trail & we had a wonderful 36 miles.Traveled 
thru Granite Wilderness like a champ & climbed
over Cougar Rock like it wasn't even there!He's full
of energy and eating like the little 
piggy I know & love.So grateful he's doing well.
Quite an experience.Congrats to all who finished
and THANK YOU to all the volunteers and my 
3 friends who crewed for us.
