[RC] Lifting the Trailer - k s swigart

Diane Farnsworth said:

I have an Exiss trailer with torsion suspension. The bed of my new 4x4
truck is higher than my old truck, so now the front of the trailer is
too high.
The trailer cannot be leveled and the weight is on the back axel.
Also,
the back rubber bumper on the trailer is only about 5 inches from the
ground and I see it as problematic when going off road. Obviously this
is not going to work for long term hauling. Has anybody else had this
problem? If so, what did you do to remedy it?

I didn't have this problem because I ordered my Exiss trailer with a 2"
lift on it. The dealer installed it with manufacturer parts before I
even picked it up. I got it this way because it was what was
recommended for me since I was planning to be doing quite a bit of off
road travelling with it.

Of course, this makes it so the back rubber bumper on the trailer is
about 2 feet from the ground, and some people think that this is too big
of a step for their horses; however, it isn't too big of a step for my
horses who jump in and out if it without batting an eye....even my 13.1
hh pony.

If you go to your Exiss dealer; they may be able to do the same thing
for you. I chose the 2" lift instead of the 3" lift because it didn't
require them to make any changes to the suspension.
