Exactly. Thank you! Most of us think the saddle fits better than it really does! My poor Star ws my experimental guy. He's got the big white patches to prove it. I've learned a lot. He's tried hard to educate his stupid human to the point of laying down and rolling once with me on his back. The saddle I thought ws fitting fine, was hurting him terribly.

 

MOST of the time, horses don't misbehave to be bad. It's the only way they've got to tell us that SOMETHING is wrong. They can't speak English., We have to learn horse!

yours, but she'd fidget. Her saddle appeared to fit
just fine & she did several LD rides & even a couple
50s with all As on her back. Then, after those couple
50s she developed some white hairs on her back, so the
saddle *was* indeed pinching her. She is apparently
just tough and never displayed any pain. The only
indication she was giving me was that fidgeting during
saddling. She now wears a treeless saddle and her
fidgeting has gone away (except at 0'dark thirty
before a 50 when she's just eager to get going ).
