generally these ads want to see your item. They read like spam mail. you can insert item here... it could be boat, car, jewelry, horse, whatever. Seems they want it.. (NOT).
The trick is they send you a money order for MORE than the amount of the sale. You cash the money order and send them back the difference, supposedly for shipping. They get the cash and you are left with a huge hole in your bank account when the bank realizes the MO is a phony.
It happened to a guy in a small town near where I live. Over a car. he felt pretty foolish after he realized he'd been had and I'm sure the way we all live from paycheck to paycheck (or most of us anyway) it was a hit he couldnt' afford.
