Re: [RC] horse ads responses....how does one know what is legit?? - Bette Lamore

Unfortunately I did that and was very rude to an inquiry from Columbia from a
breeder who was interested in Halynov's frozen semen. He bought mares in FL
and, after we established that he was NOT a scam, he purchased 2 breedings to
Halynov. I'm very lucky that he did not hang up on me when I was initially rude
to him. I guess you really have to be careful in dismissing ALL overseas
inquiries.
Bette
PS He is coming to my farm in a couple of months-- interested in my last
Halynov daughter as well. You see if I had totally dismissed him, I would have
lost out on 2 breedings and a possible high-end sale (this mare is not going to
be cheap-- my last daughter and will probably top 15.3 don't want to let her
go, yet he wants to compete internationally in endurance on her. He could make
her famous and actualize her potential!) so be careful who you dismiss :-)

Anyone have any idea how to tell if a response from someone in a foreign country is legit? Also, what would it cost to ship a horse overseas, say to Europe or UK? I have NO experience with that. Seems the ads here are really being hit by people from 'out of US' territory. mas
