Yup. I think Horse was the first word I learned to say. I'm sure there's an H-gene! My parents gave up asking me what I wanted for my birthday or for Christmas. The answer was always the same.

 

Imagine my reaction when I came home from school and there was a gorgeous pony in my back yard. I was sure God Himself had delivered this pony to me. Alas, it had wandered away from the last farm in our neighborhood... an area that was being eaten up with subdivisions.

 

Years later, when i was 13, my for real first horse was in my back yard when I got home from school. She looked just like Little Joe Cartwright's pinto.

LOL; I was the same way!! Would scream 'horsey' at the top of my
lungs when I was little at every opportunity; now changed to
screaming 'whoa' when the occaision arises....I remember having
a Jane West doll (kinda like a western female GI Joe) complete
w/ covered wagon, movable palomino horse and harness, and covered
wagon supplies; would run it around on the floor for hours (mom
probably got it for me to shut me up !!!

Lauretta and Shaba (Horses hitched to covered wagons?? If someone
is gonna hitch ME to a wagon it'd better be filled up w/ Hostess
Fruit Pies for the rest stops.........and cookies.............)
