RE: [RC] Beet Pulp! - Peter HarperDonna Wrote: North eastern Colorado or somewhere out there on the plains, sugar beets are big business--by product, beet pulp! ---------------------------------------------------- I always wondered were the current supply came from. I grew up in Jordan, Utah. Sugar Beets used to be a big business in Salt Lake City, Utah as well. Remember "U and I Sugar"? (Utah and Idaho) Jordan High School's mascot used to be the "Beet Digger". My Dad said they used to close school in the Fall at harvest time so the kids could help out in the fields. Thank God we moved before I graduated, I wasn't ready to be a 3rd generation "Beet Digger". High real estate values and completion from cheap foreign cane sugar drove them out of business. Cheers, Pete in TX Go Longhorns! __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
