Re: [RC] More Daylight to ride! - Sisu West RanchI suspect that it is because you have been lucky enough to be a country person and self employed. I lived in the big city and worked for a Fortune 500 company for 34 years. The savings in energy come from using electric lights for one less hour at night. If you must leave work at the same clock time, irrespective of the position of the sun, you get one more hour with no artificial lights etc. If you have an automatic set back thermostat, it is warmer outside for one hour when the temperature has been increased for your evening comfort. In addition to the energy savings, one more hour of light made it much easier to ride my horse after work. A lot of city dwellers like one hour more of light after work, irrespective of the energy savings. Yes, I know the businesses could start an hour earlier and the prime time TV shows could come on an hour earlier, but realistically that won't happen.
