[RC] Ariat Boots - Carolyn BurgessI'm not sure where everyone is getting their Ariats, or it may have to do with the model of boot, but my Ariats hold up fairly well. I always get the top of the line paddock boots (Hexcel currently). They are pricy but worth it. I also have two pair of Terrains. I really abuse them and they are doing well. The paddock boots and the terrains run wide, at least where I get them. While my feet are boney and don't have alot of padding, they are an (11)E width and my only complaint is that the terrains run about 1/2 size bigger than their other boots and about a size wider. Ariat has changed the leather that they use. When they first made them, it took a while for them to break in, but they were very durable. About 10 years ago, we had a potluck Christmas party at work. I brough a crock of cream of broccoli soup. There were leftovers so I put the crock pot on the floor of the passenger side of the front of the car, next to my fairly new Ariat paddock boots. Someone cut me off, I slammed on the breaks and the soup sloshed out of the crock pot and filled my new boots. I took out the footbeds, poured out the soup, hosed off the boots, stuffed them with newspaper and let them dry. After a coat of polish, they looked (and wore) as good as new.
