RE: [RC] NY to California - Adam and JannelleI believe Poison Oak and Ivy are two seperate plants (being from teh mid-west, we had Ivy and here in Oregon, we have oak). But they both cause the same horrible reaction. No matter where you live, there are good points and bad. But if you want to ride (endurance or otherwise), it is certainly easier to do in California year-round than in NY. As for schools, I had a friend that taught in Coarsegold and it had some of the highest paid, and perhaps happiest, teachers in California, for what that's worth. Where you're moving has had more than their share of fires but is beautiful in that sorta sparse California mountain way. I bet you'll love it--after you adjust--and you will be in rural country where there is diversity but not as much "strangeness" to adjust to as in the cities. THIS won't be a big change. :) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
