[RC] Puffy jowls 3 - Laurie DurginNow here is an interesting thought. I read that page on Strangles--Which I don't think it is --not in right place, no discharge, no fever, etc. No contact--closed system.Vet hasn't been here since last Sept. Only farrier, and he took shoes off indrive ,not near barn or pasture and he doesn't handle the horses, I do...I wear different shoes to barn and ride than street shoes....Anyway, the report mentioned Canine cough--Kennel cough----hhmmm---simiiar respiratory problem it said causedby steph My dogs had kennel cough the last couple of months, one even twice... and have no idea where they got it, as they have radio collars that are attached to our fence, so they can't get facial contact with strays or neightbors dogs..... but one dog we rescued had a pin in his leg and he went to vet to have final removal. The kennel cough showed up in another dog within a week , then 4 of the 5 dogs got it. I wonder isf there could be a connection....interspecies.....?But my dogs don't have facial contact with the horses....I'd be the carrier...or the beetpulp bucket the dogs lick....fat chance , but makes me wonder... And I just had the flu.....Maybe a connection with one of the above or none....or just something with the dampness we always have, mud , standing water, ..... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
