RE: [RC] Knee pain- new topic - Chastain, Shannon L.

Hi Chris,
Can I take the fender off my abetta and put on English Leather? The "Twist" of the fenders is the only thing I don't like about the Abetta.  Bev and I did a 7 miles ride yesterday and the saddle seems to fit Charlie's great too.

Also wanted to let you know I got another abused Arab she is a 19 year old bay. I will send you a copy of her papers when I get them it you don't mind you can tell me about his bloodlines.

Which 50 are you looking at?

Shannon

Yes, 53 here, arthritic knee that needs to be replaced....

Frankly I haven't done a 50 since I trashed my knee.. have been doing
Lds.. I'm going to try a 50 this year again... (still haven't had the
TKR).

What has helped  a lot are these things:

1. stirrups that have springs to absorbe the shock
2. Taking the western fenders off my endurance saddle and putting on
English leathers.
3. Physical therapy for me
4. Nsaids
5. A new product from Germany called Zeel. It's homeopathic and helps
IMMENSELY. When I'm taking it regulary, I think I can do a 50 again.

She may want to take a look of her stirrup length. In a 100, even small
issus will become major issues. In a 100, lengthening your stirrups by
as little as 1/4 of an inch can make a difference. Also check the
stiffness of your leathers - even a little too much torque will show up
in a 100. Things that don't show up in a 50 will show up in a 100.
