To reitterate, in dogs this is a *bad* sign. Real AKC breeders
know that they do not own the best stud for their bitch and either
ship the bitch for breeding, or I guess shipping semem is now
common in dogs. Someone who has both the dam and the sire
is probably breeding puppies for profit, except in a few very rare
cases.
