Re: [RC] Mustangs - Belinda RomanuskiWe frequent horse auctions a few times/month. The meat buyers do not buy crippled horses. If the horses with club feet, and "noodle legs", are sent to auction, chances are they will end up suffering longer in someone's backyard. What guarantee is there that the mustangs will go to a meat buyer? The reality isa they will go to the hgighest bidder. If thes horses are not fat, the meat guys will not bid.Belinda ----- Original Message ----- From: <heidi@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <Doubledal@xxxxxxx> Cc: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, December 01, 2004 10:36 AM Subject: Re: [RC] Mustangs Note that the ruling states over 10 years of age OR if the animal has been to adoption at least 3 times. Meaning that young, healthy horses will potentially go to slaughter too - lots of them. That's the part that is most disturbing to me. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
