I have a dressage friend who always complains "and he didn't even get any
extra points for it  ..." when one of the horses executes an unasked for
leap.

Nancy Sturm, whose dressage horse once left the ring by jumping sideways
over the rail - no extra points

My friends and I call them "Errors above the ground" when performed by
our endurance horses. In the south Airs & Errors are prounounce pretty
much the same. :-)
