[RC] Help with kicking leaping bolter - Jonnithis is probably just God's way of saying it's a good time for me to learn how to really train a horse. I've gotten away with winging it for sooo long. It's hard though when it seems like everybody who gets started with it gets so obsessed with their clinics and that becomes their hobby, as opposed to those people who are out there doing everything "wrong" (successfully) having a blast on the trail.<<< Humm, I have never been to a single clinic on training. I have fun on the trail, and don't feel I am doing things wrong. But my "education" has been years, and years of having horses, and finding out what works, and what does not work. It is a never ending education, as the horses will teach you something new, or another way to do something every day. I try to pass along what has worked for "me", and let others decide if it might work for them. There is no single way to train a horse to do anything in particular. No single way to teach them to stop, no single way to teach them to not kick ones trainer. Find what works for you. Jonni (rain, rain go away...so the mud will go away too, and we can ride!) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
