No, John, that will not send any message at all, other than to make us a
laughingstock in their eyes.  It will simply make it that much easier for
them to win--which is what they want in the first place.

One of the most blatant statements against the racism of the Nazi party
was to have Jesse Owens GO to the Olympics in Germany just prior to WWII
and come home with medals.  The USA could never have delivered such a
powerful statement by staying home.
