thats a great heads up....can't believe how stupid
people are.....and can't imagine why they can still sell that stuff in
Calif.
There is a lovely ranch that recently sold in our
area.......20 acres of pasture, folks run cattle and horses. Other side of
the
road is being turned into suburban
estates.....those folk must have just planted about 100 oleander along their
fenceline.....I can just see the leaves blowing across the road and down into
the pasture.....
Makes one wonder what legal rights a rancher might
have in a situation like that....
When we bought our 10 acre place 14 years
ago.......there was a little line of 2 ft. tall Oleander planted
all
along our driveway. I gleefully dug it all
out before even unpacking.....hate the stuff.
A stallion died recently in the Sacramento area. Evidently some
oleander had blown into one of the pens during the windstorm we had last
week. There are no oleanders in the area, so it is assumed that either
someone dumped clippings or they flew out of a truck on the road in front of
this rural property.
A very sad reminder to constantly and carefully inspect where our horses
live, especially along roads. Oleanders are everywhere in this state,
and this could happen to anyone.....
This stallion will be sadly missed. He was the most
beautiful Friesian I've ever seen.
