Seems like most middle agers have back pain and accumulated back injuries.
Mine include a moderate scoleosis (crooked spine), two fractures, and a ruptured
disc. I've avoided back surgery and have a job that requires lifting and I still
ride. I find that if I walk on a treadmill a couple miles a day on a slight to
moderate incline, and lift hand weights I can keep the pain at bay. If not, I am
in a lot of pain that round the clock drugs only diminishes a little.
